WHAT does this mean? are civil liberties suspended? who will make the judgment calls. the government has to protect itself, admittedly to stay in power you have to pre-empt and arrest rebels and destabilizers. When in doubt do not air it. this is not America. relax, just go to court to question any perceived violation. The lawyers from the Integrated Bar have questioned this declaration. The Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments on March 7, 2006. KAPATIRAN (www.kpkcommongood.blogspot.com) has issued a statement asking the President to lift the declaration of the national emergency, respect civil liberties and do not allow any warrantless arrest.
